WIN (Wildcats in Need) provides snacks, school supplies, etc for any Wildcat that is in need. Currently the food pantry needs to be restocked. Can you help?
Please take a minute to view the requested snack items. Any donations can be dropped off at Student Services to Mr Quincy Dowden's attention. If you are unable to drop off at school, please feel free to email me so that I can arrange a time to pickup any items. We will be restocking the pantry again in January (or as needed) Thank you for helping! Joining the PTSA is easy – fundraising is where we need your help. Our students depend on us to financially support things like new technology (3D printers, collaborative workspace…) digital resources, leadership training (for staff) and student scholarship funds. We are proud to host monthly PAWS breakfasts, (for freshmen) Character Ed, and the Honor Roll celebrations for all grade levels. We take care of our awesome staff with 5 lunch or breakfast events a year, and we support the IB program as well as helping with Millbrook Family Adoptions. What PTSA does impacts everyone across the entire school community. The 2016-2017 budget to support our year is just over $30,000. We need to raise (at least!) $8,000 more by November in order to be able to fully fund our 2016-2017 goals. Our No Fuss “Worth the Investment” campaign is running through November 30th, and we would really appreciate your support. 100% of your donation stays at MHS – we don’t lose money to vendors. We are a 501(c) (3) organization so it’s also tax deductible. If your company corporate matches – let us know and we’ll do the legwork to make that happen. Don’t forget to ask grandparents, neighbors, and friends. How can you help?
Your help matters and it is appreciated. Doing this supports your student today – but also kids coming to MHS in the future. Our kids are worth this investment! Thank you… MHS PTSA Board 2016-2017 Andrea Scarboro, PTSA President [email protected]
It’s hard to believe that it’s already October and we are nearing the end of the 1st quarter! In true Wildcat fashion, the halls of Millbrook are filled with students and are decorated with posters and banners about the many activities taking place. The Wildcat Maniacs are back in full force supporting their teams and spreading that Wildcat Pride. Fall sports, student government, band, chorus, theatre, newspaper and yearbook staff are already in full swing. It’s an exciting time, and the Millbrook PTSA is proud to be a part of this wonderful school community! We are very fortunate to have an amazing group of dedicated parents and PTSA volunteers at Millbrook. The PTSA wouldn’t be what it is today without the wonderful volunteers who give freely of their time and resources. What is your passion? We have opportunities for everyone to become involved and I would love to find a place for you in our MHS family. Please sign up here to volunteer: http://mhsptsa.weebly.com/volunteering.html. One of the biggest sources of income for the PTSA this year will be our “No Fuss Fundraiser”. By donating to the PTSA, you not only do you show your commitment to our school and community, but you also help to fund many PTSA events and projects at Millbrook. The PTSA sponsors many important programs such as Teacher Grants, Honor Roll Breakfasts, Character Ed Breakfasts, 9th grade agendas, beautifying school grounds, staff luncheons, and student scholarships. The mission of the PTSA is “to make every child’s potential a reality by engaging and empowering families and communities to advocate for all children”. Every Child. One Voice. Please join the PTSA today to help us achieve our mission and to make our ‘voice’ even louder. Membership forms can be found on this website: http://mhsptsa.weebly.com/join--donate.html. Is your student or family a part of Millbrook’s “walk of fame”? Join others who have a permanent legacy at Millbrook by purchasing Wildcat Walkway brick that will be placed in the front courtyard of the school. You can also show your support by linking your Harris Teeter, Kroger, and Lowes Food card, and using Amazon Smile. These are easy ways for Millbrook to benefit from your planned purchases. There is always a lot of activity on our campus and many ways that we communicate to keep you informed:
I’m looking forward to a great year! Go Wildcats!! Andrea Scarboro PTSA President [email protected] School started a month ago today. A lot has happened in that month!
PTSA enjoyed meeting new faces during the open house last week. Thank you to everyone that has joined, and especially those that have donated. As you may know - we are doing No Fuss fundraising this year. Our students and faculty depend on us to financially support things like new technology (3D printers, collaborative workspace…) digital resources, leadership training and student scholarship funds. We are proud to host monthly PAWS breakfasts, (freshmen) Character Ed, and the Honor Roll celebrations for all grade levels. We take care of our awesome staff with 5 lunch or breakfast events a year, we support the IB program as well as helping with Millbrook Family Adoptions. What PTSA does (and pays for...) impacts everyone across the entire school community. The 2016-17 budget to support our year is just over $30K. We are a 5013c organization so it’s also tax deductible. If your company corporate matches – let us know and we’ll do the legwork to make that happen. Our monthly PTSA Meeting is scheduled for Monday October 3rd in the Media Center at 7PM. (MHS Athletic Boosters has theirs at 6PM in the Main Office if you want to hit both!) We have our first PAWS breakfast on Friday October 7th, and Senior Pictures are scheduled for October 13. The Halloween Staff luncheon will be hosted on Friday October 28th!! Millbrook High School has partnered with NC State Employees Credit Union (NCSECU) to host a one-day financial education event for over 200 Millbrook High School students! The event is called "The Reality of Money,” a project of the North Carolina Credit Union Development Educators which allows students to see the "Real" side of money through a hands-on, problem-solving model. Take a look at this video to see students participating in the event.
This event will take place on Wednesday, November 16, 2016 in our small gym. In order for this event to be successful, we need volunteers! If you could help, please register using the link below. If you've ever paid bills or managed a family/personal budget then you are more than qualified to volunteer! If you could volunteer for the entire day, that would be great. However, if only one session would work for you, there are two time frames you can register for: 8:00am - 10:30am or 10:30am - 2:10pm. A Chick-fil-A lunch will be provided to all volunteers. All volunteers will receive a quick training from NCSECU before the students arrive. You will assist students in making financial decisions as they move through various stations such as transportation, housing, food, clothing, etc. Click here for the agenda for the day. Please let me know if you have any questions about anything. Thank you in advance for willing to be part of this event. If you know of any others that may want to participate, please forward them this email. Sign Up Here for MHS Reality of Money! Thank you, Timothy Walker, MBA, NBCT Career Development Coordinator Hello! I hope you are having a great start to the new school year!

Our store is partnering with three public schools in our local community to invite Students, Parents, Teachers and other support staff to shop with us and in return we will donate 10% of the pre-tax purchases to your school. Giving back to local schools is just one of the many charitable initiatives that Brighton is involved in each year. The dates are August 26th – 28th only, which is this coming weekend. Please note that Millbrook is partnered with the North Hills store only to get the 10% back. You can show the flier on their phone, print it off or just mention at time of purchase that they are from Millbrook and participating in the School Fundraiser and we will apply the code to get the 10% back. Thank you for your help in making this happen and I hope we can make some extra $ for Millbrook! Donna Davis Brighton Collectibles #165 4120 Main at North Hills St . Suite #125 Raleigh, NC 27609 [email protected] (919) 782-2838 Dear Millbrook Parents:
The PTSA would like to extend a warm welcome to all new and returning families! Our summer days are coming to an end as we approach the beginning of another great school year! We have a terrific group of PTSA officers and board chairpersons who are already hard at work preparing for the start of the new year. The PTSA provides programs which enhance each student’s education. It provides extra support through both volunteer hours and monetary contributions, helping build a stronger academic environment and promoting “Wildcat Pride”. The PTSA board would love to see new faces and hear fresh ideas, so please join us for our monthly meetings, usually held on the first Monday of the month at 7:00 PM in the Media Center. Due to the Labor Day Holiday, our first meeting will be on Tuesday, September 6th. We’re looking forward to seeing you there! We’re excited about some changes we are making this year with our membership and fundraising activities. We are now going to have a “No Fuss” fundraiser as our primary source of income for supporting our programs. Also, new this year - you can now join our PTSA online and contribute to our fundraiser using PayPal! Please check out our website for details under the "Join and Donate" header.
