Here is the YTD budget report presented at the November 5 PTSA meeting.
Hello MHS Wildcat Friends and Family!
We are gearing up for another awesome school year. Countdown is on now! The PTSA has been working on many things, including streamlining our membership process, as well as centralizing our volunteer opportunities and we wanted to share this information with you! First – there is a new online membership option! NC PTA partnered with a local provider this past spring to help make joining and donating easier – you can click over here https://millbrookmagneths.memberhub.com/dues to join (or re-join) our PTSA. The details are all there on Membership levels as well as our no fuss fundraising effort. We are determined to try and bring the "Alive at 25" experience to our students at MHS this school year – your membership and donations will help us make that happen! Second – we have consolidated many individual signups into one master list for the whole year! One link – check it out, bookmark it and check back often to see what opportunities are out there! (We are still working out the details for events later on in the fall and winter, so it is currently limited to showing events up to 35 days in the future only. We’ll lift that once it’s more finalized!) http://www.signupgenius.com/go/4090445abae2c7-mhsptsa Thank you as always for supporting our students, faculty and school! MHS PTSA Board A Message to the Parents/Guardians of All Rising Freshmen at Millbrook High School:
Please make sure your rising freshman is signed up to participate in CATS Camp August 10-11 from 8:00-11:30. We have over 350 rising 9th graders already signed up so far and we want to make sure we include everyone! Letters are being sent home this week with the date of attendance for those who have already signed up (either August 10th or August 11th). To Register your student, please click HERE. There will also be two parent sessions during CATS Camp (from 8:00-8:20 and 11:00-11:20 both days) where parents can address their concerns or questions dealing with Millbrook High School (busing, counseling, accessing PowerSchool, etc.). Parents will have the chance to meet the administration and a few other key school personnel during this time. If you have any questions or concerns, please email Coach East ([email protected]). Your last day to register for CATS Camp will be Wednesday August 2nd so please do so before then. Finally, Millbrook will be holding its Fall Open House on Wednesday August 23rd from 4:00-6:00 for ALL students. Traditionally Open House has been in September but this year we are trying it before school starts to increase participation from both students and parents. This will be your only chance to meet the teachers of your Wildcat, get the necessary supplies for each class, and have your student “walk” their schedule before school starts on August 28th. We hope you and your students take this great opportunity to see all of the amazing things Millbrook has to offer! Thank you, Coach East Help support the Millbrook PTSA by participating in one or more of the following events that will take place next week. These will be our last opportunities to raise money to fulfill our budget obligations for the remainder of the year.
As a reminder, the PTSA benefits ALL students, teachers and staff at MHS with over 15 programs, including Character Education, Honor Roll and PAWS Breakfasts, Teacher/Staff Appreciation, Student Planners, Teacher Grants, IB Programme Support, Millbrook Family Adoption, Prom, Grounds, School Improvement and more. We hope to see you next week!!
The Millbrook PTSA is hosting a Ford Drive 4 UR School event on Saturday, April 29th from 9:00 to 1:00pm. This is a huge fundraising opportunity for our school! Please plan to come to the school during these times to test drive a brand new Ford! For each test drive, Ford will donate $20 to the PTSA. THERE IS NO COST TO YOU, THE DRIVER. Drivers must be 18 years of age or older with a valid drivers license. There is no commitment to Ford other than to take a test drive. This will not be a heavy sales pitch, just an opportunity to help our school. The first 30 people to sign up using the link below and take a test drive will get a free drawstring bag! Everyone who takes a test drive will get a free day planner. Only one driver per address will count for the donation. http://www.signupgenius.com/go/20f0f4caeaf2e5-mhsptsa2 I can’t stress the importance of the Drive 4 UR School event. We need at least 60 people to attend the event on April 29th to make it a success. Please forward to as many friends, family, and neighbors as possible!! We also need 2 volunteers per shift to help with sign-in on the day of the Drive event. If you are able to help out for one (or both!) of the shifts, please use the signup below: http://www.signupgenius.com/go/20f0f4caeaf2e5-mhsptsa3 Thanks in advance for your support! If you have any questions, please feel free to contact me. Kim Miller MHS PTSA Executive Vice President [email protected] 919-606-6421 Our Academic Honor Roll Breakfasts are quickly approaching and we need many volunteers to help make them a success. Please consider volunteering during one, or a few, of the available time slots. We will begin to set up on Monday, April 17 in the afternoon.
The celebration begins, Tuesday, April 18, 19, 20 and 21. To make this a special event for the students, we need several volunteers to help set up and serve. Please consider volunteering during one of the available time slots. Your help is greatly appreciated!! http://www.signupgenius.com/go/20f0e4ea5ae2f4-mhsacademic Please contact Heather Luckinbill ([email protected]) or Sarah Salas ([email protected])if you have any questions. Thanks!! We are looking for volunteers willing to serve on the MHS PTSA for the 2017-18 school year! PTA’s in good standing in NC are required to elect 4 officers (minimum) to the board each year. The positions are President, VP, Secretary and Treasurer. These elected officers then work with Ms. King to find and appoint the remainder of the Board of Directors. We are excited to continue growing and expanding a vibrant PTSA focused on students, faculty and community!
If you are interested in serving as an elected officer, or helping in a committee or activity area, please contact our nominations chair (Jodi.Bulmer) via email ([email protected]) The goal is to have our potential candidates interviewed and a slate of officers presented at our April PTSA meeting for election. Committees/Activities have more time… we need to get the officer roles elected first. If you have questions or would like additional information on the roles - let us know! You can talk to any current board member, or email me direct and I’m happy to help! Thanks, Jodi Wildcat Walkway brick make great gifts!!!
